AEDC Woman’s Club to announce scholarship recipients

The April 5 meeting of the AEDC Woman’s Club will be held at the Lakewood Country Club in Tullahoma and will feature the scholarship recipients from area high schools and guest speaker Will Rabb.

Rabb, a sports announcer, received a scholarship from the AEDCWC in 2007. He graduated from Franklin County High School and the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He began his broadcasting career in Knoxville, then went to Louisiana, and is currently in Franklin County. He will talk about persistence, his professional experiences and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Scholarships will be presented by AEDC Commander Col. Scott Cain and Michelle Cain. Donations at the April meeting will go to St. Jude.

The March meeting of the AEDC Woman’s Club featured fashions and a scarf tying demonstration by fashion specialist Dorene Briggs from Dillard’s of Cool Springs Galleria, Franklin, Tennessee. The March meeting donations went to the AEDCWC Scholarship Foundation.

The social hour of the April 5 meeting starts at 9:30 a.m., with the business meeting and program beginning at 10 a.m. The meeting is being held at 1900 Country Club Dr., due to renovations at the Arnold Lakeside Center.

The meetings are open to the public and provides the opportunity to meet the AEDCWC members and become a member. You don’t need to have military connections or be involved with Arnold Air Force Base to visit and become a member.
