The 2019 Air Force Assistance Fund (AFAF) annual fundraising campaign officially kicked off March 26 and will run through April 26.

The funds are used to assist active duty, retirees, reservists, guard and their dependents, including surviving spouses.

Military members, including active duty, retired, Air National Guard or Reserves may make contributions to the AFAF.

1st Lt. Bradley Landry, Unit Program Officer and Test Systems Sustainment Division representative for the Air Force Assistance Fund 2019 campaign at Arnold Air Force Base, commented on the importance of giving back to the military communities and helping military members in need.

“The time of year has come for us all to consider reaching out to provide support to our Air Force Family,” he said. “From hurricane relief to helping an Airman through personal financial burdens, the Air Force Assistance Fund charities have been there to take care of our own.”

Within the AFAF there are four charitable organizations that provide support in emergencies, with educational needs, or a secure retirement home for widows or widowers of our Air Force members in need of financial assistance.

Those four charities are the Air Force Aid Society, the Air Force Enlisted Village, the Air Force Villages Charitable Foundation, and the General and Mrs. Curtis E. LeMay Foundation. More information on each of these charities can be found here: https://www.assistancefund.org/index.php/our-charities/

One-hundred percent of contributions are passed to the designated charity and contributions to the campaign are deductible for Federal Income Tax purposes as an itemized deduction. The IRS does require donors to obtain a receipt for any single contribution of $250 or greater.

In addition to Landry, Andrea Stephens is the Test Support Division representative for the AFAF 2019 campaign at Arnold AFB and Donna Casto is the Test Operations Division representative. Please contact one of these individuals with any questions regarding the AFAF or the 2019 campaign.
