Woods Reservoir completed 70 years ago this month
Crews work in April 1951 in the north end core trench of what would soon become the Elk River Dam. The dam, constructed to create Woods Reservoir, was completed 70 years ago this month. Woods Reservoir has since supplied cooling water to the test facilities at Arnold Air Force Base, Tennessee. Arnold AFB is the headquarters of the Arnold Engineering Development Complex.
