Robert B. Lamb is the Chief of the ICBM Test Branch located at Hill AFB, UT. He is responsible for oversight of MMIII and support to GBSD developmental testing. He reports to the Test Division of the Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC), headquarted at Arnold Air Force Base, Tenn.
Mr. Lamb began his career in 1989 at Edwards AFB, CA working as a support services contractor performing T-2 Modification project management. He then became a civil servant and worked as an instrumentation operations engineer on the C-17 program at Edwards AFB. He completed his career at Edwards AFB as a test engineer working in the fields of performance and flying qualities and propulsion testing. His experience including producing many test and safety plans, conducting tests, and analyzing data and reporting on test results. He was also involved in developing data analysis methods and tools for flying qualities and flutter test data analysis.
After working at Edwards AFB, Mr. Lamb then worked at Hill AFB as a staff engineer in the OO-ALC Engineering Directorate in both the Policy and Procedures branch and also in the Center Test Authority (CTA) branch. He later moved to Software Maintenance as an embedded software development engineer and later as a supervisor of a group of 32 embedded software development engineers (F-16 OFP development). He then worked as the OO-ALC Engineering Directorate Chief of the CTA Division which was later re-aligned to the AFLCMC CTA office as the Test and Evaluation Senior Functional at Hill AFB, providing Test and Evaluation support to AFLCM and other organizations at Hill AFB. In 2017 Mr. Lamb became the Chief of the ICBM Test Branch located at Hill AFB, UT.
