Despite the increased activity the holiday season often brings, this time of year also presents an opportunity for reflection. I would like to thank all AFMC personnel for your exceptional dedication and professionalism in meeting our mission of equipping our Air Force for world dominant airpower. I also thank your families and loved ones for their steadfast and selfless support. As a result of your hard work and commitment to excellence, AFMC experienced a very successful year. I know we'll see even more success in 2015.

As we gather with friends and family to celebrate, I encourage everyone to remember those who cannot be with their families and loved ones this holiday season. Today the Air Force has more than 24,000 Airmen -- military and civilian -- deployed to preserve the gifts of independence, freedom and democracy. Within Air Force Materiel Command, we have more than 1,100 personnel deployed. I am humbled by the service and sacrifice of these Airmen and their families.

As a final note, please remember that this joyous time of year also brings increased risks and hazards, especially on the roads. By exercising appropriate risk management as you make your holiday plans, you help ensure a safe season for yourself and your family.

Wolf and I wish you all a wonderful holiday and a happy new year. We are proud to serve with you in the world's most respected Air Force.
