Arnold AFB crane and rigging crew supports annual Elk River Dam maintenance

The crane and rigging crew at Arnold Air Force Base, Tenn., poses for a photo atop Elk River Dam Feb. 22, 2023. The crew recently completed a preventative maintenance project at the dam to ensure gates and other equipment remain in good working order. This work is performed each winter to prevent disturbances to the gray bat population residing at the dam, as the bats migrate to caves during the winter months. (U.S. Air Force photo)
