It was 70 years ago this month that President Harry S. Truman signed legislation that paved the way for the establishment of Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC).On Oct. 27 and 28, 1949, Truman signed the Unitary Wind Tunnel Plan Act and the Air Engineering Development Center Act of 1949.
