Local youth participate in the America’s Kids Run, in which ages 5-13 ran a 1-mile course at their own pace. The America’s Kids Run is part of Armed Forces Day activities worldwide at all branches of military bases giving children a noncompetitive outlet to express their love for the sport. In addition to the America’s Kids Run, a 5K and 10K were held, open to people of all ages, and 10 award medals were presented by Col. Rodney Todaro, AEDC Commander, and Ron Stephenson, Services Fitness Center Manager. All runners also received a moisture wicking event t-shirt and a drawstring backpack with various promotional items for participating.
