Chief Master Sergeant Evan T. McCoy is the Senior Enlisted leader of the Arnold Engineering Development Complex, headquartered at Arnold Air Force Base, Tenn. The Complex employs more than 3,000 people and comprises more than 90 aerospace test capabilities across eight states. With facilities at Arnold Air Force Base in middle Tennessee, with operating locations at Ames Research Center, Mountain View, California; Eglin AFB, Florida; Peterson AFB, Colorado; the Federal Research Center at White Oak, Maryland; Holloman AFB, and White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico; Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, and Hill AFB, Utah, AEDC offers a suite of test capabilities to simulate speed, temperature, pressure and other parameters over a wide range to meet the needs of aerospace system developers. The test facilities simulate flight from subsonic to hypersonic speeds at altitudes from sea level to space.
Chief Master Sergeant McCoy is from Turkey Creek, Kentucky, and graduated from Belfry High School in 1998. After graduation, Chief McCoy attended Union College on a football scholarship before enlisting into the Air Force in May 2003. He graduated Tactical Aircraft Maintenance Specialist training in September 2003, and worked as an F-15 Dedicated Crew Chief before being selected to the ACC F-15 West Coast Demonstration Team. In 2008, Chief McCoy elected to retrain and became a Career Enlisted Aviator after successfully completing Basic Flight Attendant training.
Prior to his current position, Chief McCoy served as the Senior Enlisted Leader for the 33d Operations Group, 33d Fighter Wing, Eglin Air Force Base, FL. He is a Command Flight Attendant Evaluator with over 2700 hours in the C-17A, C-20H, C-37A, C-40B, C-40C and KC-135R airframes. He has also accumulated over 100 combat hours in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, and Resolute Support.
