Highland Yacht Club offers summer sailing lessons

ARNOLD AIR FORCE BASE, Tenn. --  The Highland Yacht Club (HYC) is offering free adult sailing lessons this summer. Adult beginner lessons are scheduled June 29 at 10 a.m. and intermediate sailing lessons are scheduled July 13 at 9 a.m.

Larry Thomas, a certified U.S. sailing instructor, will teach both classes which include safe sailing fundamentals and tactics in the morning session followed by lunch and afternoon hands on sailing. Boats are provided, but participants should bring a life jacket due to limited quantities.

Classes are presented by the Yacht Club as a community out-reach program, families are also welcome to participate.

The HYC is affiliated with Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) and is located on Woods Reservoir between the AEDC FAM Camp and the Gossick Leadership Center.
