U.S. Senate confirms AEDC commander for brigadier general appointment Published Dec. 19, 2011 By Patrick Ary AEDC/PA ARNOLD AIR FORCE BASE, Tenn. -- The Air Force announced Dec. 19 that the U.S. Senate has confirmed AEDC Commander Col. Michael T. Brewer for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Colonel Brewer was one of four Air Force Materiel Command colonels nominated by the President to the Senate for appointment to the grade of brigadier general. Colonel Brewer formally took command of AEDC Aug. 2. Prior to his arrival at AEDC, Colonel Brewer was the 46th Test Wing commander at Eglin AFB, Fla. He received his commission in 1986 after graduating from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering. After pilot training, he flew the F-111F and F-15E before attending U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School in 1996. Colonel Brewer is a command pilot with more than 3,200 hours flying the F-111, F-15E and F-16 and has combat experience in both the F-111 and F-15E.
