Prescribed burn may cause low visibility on Arnold highways; drivers asked to be cautious Published April 1, 2010 By Janae' Daniels AEDC/PA Arnold Air Force Base, Tenn. -- There will be a prescribed burn Friday that will produce smoke in the vicinity of Wattendorf Highway and UTSI Road. The burn is scheduled from approximately 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Reduced visibility below 1/10th mile is possible. Residual smoke and light smoke may stay around through the rest of the day and into the night. Traffic may be re-routed around the burn area if visibility is poor and unsafe for driving. If these highways are open to traffic, drivers are asked to slow down to a slower speed and turn on head lights while traveling through any smoke. Arnold Police will help direct traffic to help drivers take alternate routes to avoid potential delays. AEDCsmoke.mp3
