AEDC to participate in federal funding seminar Published July 9, 2009 By Janae' Daniels AEDC/PA Arnold Air Force Base, Tenn. -- A Federal Funding Seminar, hosted by Congressman Lincoln Davis and the University of Tennessee Center for Industrial Services, and the Procurement Technical Assistance Center, will be held at the Manchester-Coffee County Conference Center Aug. 5-6. Aerospace Testing Alliance (ATA) purchasing and Arnold Engineering Development Center (AEDC) contracting will be presenting at the seminar on how local vendors and services can do business with ATA and the federal government in support of AEDC operations. "This is a great opportunity for business owners of all kinds, but especially small business owners or those just starting out," Congressman Davis said. "This is the kind of boost a small business owner could use to seize on this opportunity for funding or procurement of government contracts that are abundantly available, but not widely known." Community leaders and organizations, all business, including: veteran-owned, service, manufacturing, and economic development professional are welcome to attend. The conference will feature interactive workshops, keynote presentations, networking opportunities, recognition of company successes and publicity and recognition of conference supporters. The two-fold purpose of the seminar "Working to Address the Challenges of the 21st Century" is one for businesses that are looking to expand or contract with the federal government and the other for community organizations and elected officials who are interested in federal grants and programs. Past participants have included Homeland Security, Tennessee Valley Authority, Foundation Center, Small Business Administration, IRS, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Missile Defense Agency, NASA, Department of Energy, UTSI and many others.
