Air Force Association Air & Space conference honors Air Force 60th anniversary Published Oct. 5, 2007 By Claude Morse AEDC/PA ARNOLD AIR FORCE BASE, Tenn. -- The Air Force Association annual convention concluded last week in Washington, D.C. Some 260 delegates represented chapters and state organizations from across the nation. Delegates met Sept. 22-23 to conduct the business of the organization, including the reelection of Bob Largent as National Chairman and Tennessee's own Joe Sutter as Vice Chairman of the Board for Field Operations. A new Vice Chairman of the Board for Aerospace Education was also elected as a board member at large and a board member from the Central Region. The annual AFA Air & Space Conference was held in conjunction with the Global Air Chiefs Conference with representatives of the 90 of world's Air Forces in attendance Sept. 24-26. Secretary of the Air Force Michael W. Wynne opened the conference. A podcast of his speech is available on the AFA Web site (www.afa.org). The conference featured presentations and seminars on a wide variety of topics from new flight systems to alternate fuels as well as an exhibit hall. AEDC was represented in the hall with a joint test and evaluation display with Edwards and Eglin AFBs.
