The Air Force Association annual convention concluded last week in Washington, D.C. Some 260 delegates represented chapters and state organizations from across the nation.

Delegates met Sept. 22-23 to conduct the business of the organization, including the reelection of Bob Largent as National Chairman and Tennessee's own Joe Sutter as Vice Chairman of the Board for Field Operations.

A new Vice Chairman of the Board for Aerospace Education was also elected as a board member at large and a board member from the Central Region.

The annual AFA Air & Space Conference was held in conjunction with the Global Air Chiefs Conference with representatives of the 90 of world's Air Forces in attendance Sept. 24-26.

Secretary of the Air Force Michael W. Wynne opened the conference. A podcast of his speech is available on the AFA Web site (www.afa.org).

The conference featured presentations and seminars on a wide variety of topics from new flight systems to alternate fuels as well as an exhibit hall. AEDC was represented in the hall with a joint test and evaluation display with Edwards and Eglin AFBs.
