Students ‘Reach for the Stars’
Twenty-seven local students construct rockets in preparation for the Reach for the Stars rocket launch competition at the University of Tennessee Space Institute Sept. 19. Reach for the Stars, a national competition, was created by the Christa McAuliffe Challenger Learning Center in Sarasota, Fla. The AEDC Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Center, the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and UTSI hosted the competition using solid-fuel powered rockets which were launched by each participating student.
