Representatives from Arnold Air Force Base (AFB) will host a meeting to discuss plans to modify the current Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) permit with the state of Tennessee.

The proposed modifications include implementing final remedies at 32 facility solid waste management units (SWMUs) and Areas of Concern (AOCs) managed under the Air Force Installation Restoration Program.

Arnold AFB manages the corrective action of facility SWMUs and AOCs under a RCRA permit issued in September 2008 by the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation.

The pre-application meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 4, 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Coffee County Administrative Plaza Community Room, 1329 McArthur Street, Manchester, Tenn.

The purpose of this pre-application meeting is to inform the community of the proposed permit modification activity, and to solicit input from the community.
