Line officer accessions impacted by personnel policy changes

  • Published
Air Force Recruiting Service officials announced today they are implementing changes that impact line officer accessions, as part of Air Force's recent release about posturing for future force management initiatives.

Impacts of this change affect selected candidates and new applicants.

Currently, a number of selected candidates with previously assigned Basic Officer Training class dates were deferred into fiscal 2015. All those affected by the deferment have been notified of their status.

For applicants who met the 14OT02 BOT Rated Selection Board that convened from Nov. 18-22, 2013, the results will be delayed to a later date pending finalization of accession requirements for fiscal 2014 and 2015. All future boards scheduled after the 14OT01 Non-rated Board, have been suspended until further notice.

Due to reductions in certain career fields for fiscal 2014 and 2015, only individuals with science, technology, engineering or mathematics degrees will be eligible to meet the 14OT01 Non-rated Selection Board, which will convene Jan. 27-31, 2014.

Active-duty Air Force enlisted applicants will be personally notified in the upcoming weeks of their eligibility status for the 14OT01 Non-rated Board by e-mail from AFRS officials. All civilian applicants will be notified by their respective recruiting squadrons.

Air Force members can go to the BOT Program website on the Air Force Portal page for the most current information on the program.

All civilian applicants should contact their local recruiter for the most current information. The recruiter locator can be found on www.AirForce.com.
