Attend the last local Appleseed Rifle Clinic of 2013 on Nov. 9-10 at the Arnold Air Force Base (AFB) Rifle Ranges and give it a shot!

To win the rifle you must be a registered attendee at the clinic and you must shoot a perfect score of 250, verified by the events Shoot Boss on the Army Qualification Test (AQT) using a Ruger 10/22 rifle during the clinic.

The rifle donated by FJ Feddersen, Inc. is a special edition Ruger 10/22 with a super accurate Feddersen 10/22 barrel.

Project Appleseed is a nation-wide heritage and rifle marksmanship program. The two day clinics are open to the public and military shoot for free. The local clinics are hosted by the Arnold AFB Highland Rim Shooters Club.

Participants will shoot around 500 rounds of ammunition during the two-day clinic and learn the skills to be a long distance marksman. During the clinic participants will also learn about the founding values of our Republic and the most important day in American history - April 19, 1775.

Youth as young as 11-12 are welcome as are adults. Youth 18 and under must have Appleseed and Arnold AFB Hold Harmless agreements signed by a parent or legal guardian to attend. Many families attend with parents and children. The oldest participant in a local clinic was a 94 year old World War II veteran who flew fighter planes in the Pacific theater. He came to the clinic with three generations of his family.

Many attendees have never fired a rifle before, and even most experienced shooters will learn a lot from an Appleseed Rifle Clinic.

Participants must register in advance on-line to attend. Active duty military personnel, National Guard members, Reserve military members and active law enforcement personnel shoot for free (ID Required). To register and/or for more information about the clinics and attendance fees go to the Appleseed Web site at - www.appleseedinfo.org.
