After 24 combined years of commitment and service to Arnold Engineering Development Complex, the former Aerospace Testing Alliance general manager, Steve Pearson, began a new chapter with Jacobs Aerospace and Technology as an interim GM after June 17.

Pearson began his career with AEDC in 1973 as a turbine engine project engineer until 1985 when he transferred to a position with Sverdrup Technology supporting the automotive test facility business.

He returned to AEDC in 2002 and became the director of the ATA Resource Provisioning Department in 2003. After his service as the deputy general manager overseeing ATA involvement in all test operations, Pearson was appointed to the position of ATA GM in 2011.

"Steve has provided outstanding leadership as ATA's GM and is leaving a legacy of excellence," said Jeff Haars, ATA general manager. "Steve will be greatly missed, but is moving on to an exciting opportunity as the interim GM of the Jacobs Australia office in our Aerospace and Technology line of business."

Pearson's experience spans outside of AEDC with his leadership role as the program manager for the Chrysler Scientific Test Facilities in Michigan from 1988-1998. There he managed master planning, design construction support and commissioning. He also served as the program director for the construction of the Department of Energy's National Ignition Facility at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory from 1999 to 2002. The NIF houses the world's most powerful laser system designed to support national defense and fusion power research.

Pearson, a graduate of Tennessee Technological University, is a member of the TTU Advisory Board for the Dean of the College of Engineering. In 2005 he was selected as a TTU Alumnae Engineer of Distinction.
