AEDC Fellow Claude Morse remembered for his contributions

Arnold Engineering Development Complex Fellow Claude Morse, then public affairs manager for the then-Test Operations and Sustainment contractor for AEDC, right, explains the role of the Aeropropulsion Systems Test Facility to the Little Rock Air Force Base civic leaders during their 2008 visit to Arnold Air Force Base, Tenn, headquarters of AEDC. AEDC Acoustic Imager places Top 3 in AFMC Spark Tank

Wayne Horton, condition-based maintenance ultrasound lead at Arnold Air Force Base, Tenn., headquarters of Arnold Engineering Development Complex, shows the Acoustic Imager that was awarded AEDC Spark Tank funding earlier this year. The acoustic imager is used to identify leaks in compressed air, gas and vacuum systems. It can also reveal the locations of electrical partial discharge which, if left unaddressed, could result in system failure and power loss and could pose a safety hazard. Horton served as principal investigator on the project.
