This portrait of James Cunningham was taken in 1955 during his time serving with the U.S. Air Force. Cunningham worked at Arnold Air Force Base, Tenn., prior to joining the Air Force in 1953 and resumed his career at Arnold after leaving the service in 1958. Cunningham, honored as an Arnold Engineering Development Complex Fellow in 2006, passed away May 11, 2023. He spent more than 40 years of his 55-year career at Arnold Air Force Base, Tenn.
