AEDC supports Angel Tree drive with donations

ATA employee Janet Feller (left) assists AEDC employees with their 159 donations for the AEDC Angel Tree drive. Donations are collected for the South Central Relative Caregiver Program which serves needy families in Bedford, Coffee, Giles, Hickman, Lawrence, Lewis, Lincoln, Marshall, Maury, Moore, Perry and Wayne counties. The Employee and Community Activities Committee has sponsored the AEDC Angel Tree drive since ATA became the prime contractor at AEDC.

A panel constructed to be representative of an aerospace vehicle fuselage in material type, weight, thickness and support sits on a table in the von Kármán Gas Dynamics Facility at Arnold Air Force Base, Tenn., May 2, 2023. The panel was subjected to hypersonic airflows to observe and measure the effects of the heating which occurs under those conditions. The dot pattern is specifically designed to enable cameras to measure deformation in the panel. AEDC T-11 engine test cell modified to expand its capabilities

The AEDC T-11 engine test cell at Arnold Air Force Base has been enhanced to perform a wide variety of research tests. The modification was part of an effort of the AEDC technology program to develop test and evaluation techniques that will prepare the Complex to meet future vision system weapon requirements. T-11 modifications included adding a handling apparatus to enable legacy R-Cells to be rolled into the test section. Pictured here is the crane and trolley used in the T-11 test section. The AEDC T-11 engine test cell at Arnold Air Force Base was recently modified as part of effort in the AEDC technology program to develop test and evaluation techniques that will prepare the Complex to meet future vision system weapon requirements. To implement a plug-in module concept, the T-11 plenum was modified by installing a spool piece that enabled the installation of a plenum apparatus and provided the interface for the plug-in modules.
