Franklin County honors fallen soldier, native son with Operation Never Forget bust

Sgt. Alex Stephens, an Army field medic assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C., was a Franklin County, Tennessee native killed during combat operations in Afghanistan in 2007. Aerospace Testing Alliance’s (ATA) Mike Cunningham and Dave Uselton and a coalition of community members, ATA and others initiated and raised money for an Operation Never Forget bust to be made in Sergeant Stephens’ honor. The bust was presented in a public ceremony April 14 in Franklin County. (Photo provided)
