AEDC hosts 2012 Engineer-for-a-Day event
Jacob Cashion, a mechanical design engineer with ATA’s Test System Design branch, explains investment projects he is working on to Maxwell Richards and Sidney Durant from Sewanee St. Andrews High School and Andrew Casey of Coffee County High School. Cashion, who is the lead on some of these projects currently underway at the Propulsion Wind Tunnel four-foot transonic tunnel, told the students about the new roll mechanism and the High Alpha Model Support (HAMS) system that will upgrade the pitch capability of 4T. Cashion took them to the Model Shop’s Inspection Lab where parts are currently being fabricated and measured for the roll mechanism on the Wenzel Coordinate Measuring Machine. Cashion also show explained the quality control process to them.
