The sky is calling AEDC’s Larry Wilhite
Larry Wilhite, section manager for ATA's control and data systems development branch, sits in the cockpit of his recently completed RV-7A aircraft he built from a kit purchased from Van's Aircraft Corp., based in Oregon. Wilhite is an electrical engineer who had literally taken his love of engineering home with him, installing the domestic version of Programmable Logic Controller units that control lighting, temperature and other environmental variables in his home. Five years ago, he decided to build his own aircraft, renew his private pilot's license and finally took to the sky with his home-built aircraft on Sept. 2. (Photo provided)
