Otto Bock of Brentwood, Tenn., is shown inside the 1,000-foot underground Hypervelocity Ballistic Range G, at AEDC's von Karman Facility. He played a major role in designing many of the optical data systems used in the range. He takes a last look before retiring May 28, 1976 at the huge Fresnel lenses that are part of a shadowgraph system that is able to take “stop action” photos of models as they speed down range at up to 14,000 miles an hour.
