AEDC hosts site visit from Redstone Test Center representatives

An Army UH-60H Blackhawk helicopter from Redstone Test and Training Center (RTTC) in Alabama hovers as the pilot prepares to land the helicopter at Arnold Air Force Base’s airfield Oct. 21. RTTC Senior Operations Coordinator Pete Santorelli, Tyonek Services Corp., pilots Bill Warren and Daryl Hawkins and RTTC Deputy Director Keith Darrow paid a site visit to Arnold Engineering Development Center (AEDC) to discuss the possibility of conducting an undetermined amount of helicopter flight testing at Arnold’s airfield over the next few years. According to Murray King, the Flight Systems Assets Manager at Arnold, the discussions were only preliminary at this point in time. He said the RTTC is interested in AEDC as one of several outlying areas they might use as the flight test mission is moved from Fort Rucker to Redstone [Ala.] as part of a Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) initiative.
