AEDC hosts site visit from Redstone Test Center representatives

Hawkins landed the party in an Army UH-60H Blackhawk helicopter at the base’s airfield. AEDC hosted the site visit from the RTTC representatives to discuss the possibility of conducting an undetermined amount of helicopter flight testing at Arnold’s airfield over the next few years. According to King, the Flight Systems Assets Manager at Arnold, the discussions were only preliminary at this point in time. He said the RTTC is interested in AEDC as one of several outlying areas they might use as the flight test mission is moved from Fort Rucker to Redstone [Ala.] as part of a Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) initiative.
