Ribbon-cutting ceremony marks debut of new Tunnel 9 test control room
On Sept. 18, Arnold Engineering Development's (AEDC) White Oak Site Director Dan Marren (far right) and AEDC Commander Col. Michael Panarisi presided over a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the completion of a major upgrade to the Hypervelocity Wind Tunnel 9's test control room. From left, Joseph Norris, Tunnel 9 project engineer, Betsy Betz, LabQuest chairperson, Steve Grant, lead controls engineer, took part in the ceremony, which was attended by approximately 100 guests. Marren said LabQuest, a partnership of local businesses, elected officials, economic development partners and residents have supported Tunnel 9 and its predecessor, the Naval Ordnance Lab, for years.
