AEDC engineers played vital role in F-35 initial flight

A Pratt & Whitney F135 engine, one of two engines slated to power the F-35 Lightning II, undergoes altitude testing at AEDC. AEDC is conducting a multi-year test program worth approximately $200 million in several test facilities for variants of the F135 engine.
