Hot test
Engineers at Arnold Engineering Development Center, Arnold Air Force Base, Tenn., began ground testing the Pratt & Whitney F100 fighter jet engine April 29 as a major step toward certifying the first fighter engine to run on synthetic fuel. AEDC engineers last tested the F101 engine that powers the B-1 Lancer. Pictured is an earlier AEDC test of the F100 engine. (AEDC photo)
