Big push
The Pratt & Whitney 4084, which started testing at AEDC in the fall of 1992, was the largest turbine engine ever tested at AEDC at that time. The engine stands 10 feet in height, has a 112-inch diameter fan and a thrust capability in the 73,000 to 90,000-pound range. It was developed to power the Boeing 777. (AEDC photo)
