Getting up to speed
Lindsay Haig, an administrative assistant at AEDC White Oak in Maryland, listens as Lisa Schappacher, a management and program analyst at the facility, goes over revised security requirements for visitors. Haig, the most junior government employee at the facility, said she is considering going into public affairs as a result of her interactions with members of LabQuest, an alliance of local business owners, elected officials, economic development partners, and residents, who are supportive of the unique ground testing facility in their "backyard." Tunnel 9 Site Director Dan Marren said he chose her to represent the facility with the organization due to Haig's people skills. (Photo by Philip Lorenz III)
