The Honor Flight for this area began in the spring of 2008 under the direction of Milton Schaefer of Winchester, Tenn. Today the flight continues twice a year, in the spring and in the fall under the direction of Board Chairman Claude Morse, U.S. Air Force retired, and Vice Chairman Lana Bradford of Tullahoma. On the most recent flight, May 2, veterans from Franklin County, Coffee County, Shelby County, Bedford County, Grundy County, Marion County, Hamilton County and from the State of Kentucky enjoyed a memorable day visiting the memorials.
