Shown in the graphic above is the axis system used for the 168i dynamometer. The 168-inch internal drum dynamometer, pictured, is a test machine developed and commissioned in 1998 for the purpose of aircraft tire wear testing. It operates at speeds up to 350 mph, with loads of up to 150,000 pounds, plus or minus 20 degrees of yaw, plus-minus 10 degrees of camber and can provide variable levels of brake torque.
