Craftsmen keep largest wind tunnels in the world running at peak conditions
The Arnold Engineering Development Complex National Full-Scale Aerodynamics Complex (NFAC) return-to-service crew document their work on the 40- by 80-foot test section with a photo. In 2017, a collapsed wall panel at NFAC, located at Moffett Field in Mountain View, California, damaged one of the six large fan motors, pictured in the background, which powers the complex wind tunnels. NFAC craftsmen worked alongside engineers to successfully return the 40- by 80-foot test section to service in 2018. (U.S. Air Force photo)
