Holloman High Speed Test Track completes two recovery missions at over 5,000-feet per second
A hypersonic sled is ready to undergo a High Speed Recovery (HSR) test at the Arnold Engineering Development Complex High Speed Test Track at Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico. During a test in July of this year, the sled traveled 5,300-feet per second on a monorail and was recovered as part of the HSR effort. (U.S. Air Force photo)
