Using standard models provides beneficial data prior to customer tests in AEDC wind tunnels

An AGARD-C model coated in pressure-sensitive paint (PSP) is seen here mounted on a sting in the 16-foot transonic wind tunnel at Arnold Air Force Base, Tenn., Dec. 3, 2021. Illuminating the model coated in PSP with ultraviolet lights and a camera system allows test personnel to see pressure variations as color variations in the processed data on the aircraft model during wind tunnel operations.
