Arnold service members, first responders complete new combat care training course

Maj. Justin Ong uses a pool noodle to practice wound packing during Tactical Combat Casualty Care training Aug. 15, 2022, at the Medical Aid Station at Arnold Air Force Base, Tennessee. The pool noodle represents a massive bleeding injury requiring immediate care. TCCC trainees are taught lifesaving techniques, strategies and procedures, allowing those who have been trained to provide best practice trauma care both on and off the battlefield. Ong was part of the first TCCC class at Arnold. The first level of TCCC training is required by all Department of Defense service members by April 2023.
