AEDC Spark Tank: LUCAS 3 chest compression machine saves lives, improves patient outcomes
A LUCAS 3 Chest Compression System is pictured in the Arnold Fire and Emergency Services Training Room at Arnold AFB, Tenn., July 17, 2023. Arnold FES was able to acquire two of the automated CPR devices through Arnold Engineering Development Complex Spark Tank funding the department received earlier this year. Arnold AFB is the headquarters of AEDC. The LUCAS 3 is designed to deliver uninterrupted chest compressions at a consistent rate and depth, whether in the field, during transport and throughout arrival to the hospital.
