AEDC Fellow Richard Austin’s contributions to the complex remembered

Richard Austin, left, then-director of Propulsion Test at Arnold Engineering Development Center, later known as Arnold Engineering Development Complex, is honored in 1993 as the “founding father” of the Master Data Exchange Agreement between the U.S. and Canada. Austin was honored by the National Research Council of Canada for an agreement he spearheaded which allowed propulsion testing and measurement techniques associated with all types of airbreathing engines to be exchanged between the two governments in an effort to enhance global communication and technical knowledge.
