Programs at Arnold AFB help foster harmony between mission, environmental responsibilities

Bald eagles choose large trees with dead limbs to build nests and have better aerial access for their large wingspans. This eagle and its mate were reported for the first time nesting at Arnold Air Force Base, Tenn., in 2009. The Natural Resources program at Arnold has been surveying multiple species and their habitats on installation property for well over 20 years. This work includes bird counts. (U.S. Air Force photo)
