Alerts help combat heat-related illnesses at Arnold AFB
This chart from Air Force Instruction 48-151 details the temperatures at the five heat categories, the work/rest rate for different work classifications in each heat category and recommended fluid intake. Throughout the summer, members of the workforce at Arnold Air Force Base, Tenn., headquarters of Arnold Engineering Development Complex, have received regular notices providing information on the current heat category, flag condition and wet bulb globe temperature. These alerts are sent to warn team members of potentially dangerous conditions outdoors in order to mitigate heat-related illnesses. (Courtesy graphic)
