Annual prescribed burn season nears at Arnold AFB

The forest floor burns on acreage surrounding Arnold Air Force Base, Tenn., during a March 26, 2025, prescribed burn operation. The Arnold AFB Natural Resources team is set to begin prescribed burns later this month and continue throughout March. Prescribed fire allows land managers to alter and improve the native ecosystems without utilizing more costly methods such as mulching, mowing and herbicide applications.
