Arnold Fire and Emergency Services conducts annual aircraft live fire training
Greg Smith with the University of Missouri Fire and Rescue Training Institute, or MUFRTI, looks on as a simulated aircraft fuselage is ignited for live fire training at Arnold Air Force Base, Tenn., March 6, 2026. Arnold AFB Fire and Emergency Services firefighters participated in the annual training to maintain readiness in the event of an emergency and to meet National Fire Protection Association and Air Force requirements. The mock fuselage, used to simulate aircraft fires, was once again brought to Arnold from MUFRTI. (U.S. Air Force photo by Keith Thornburgh)
