Arnold FES team conducts annual structure fire training
Arnold Air Force Base Fire and Emergency Services firefighters Joey Bryant, right, Matt Aussiker, center and Roger Whitton take part in annual structure fire training April 15, 2026, outside the Arnold FES station at Arnold AFB, Tenn. A training unit, which resembles a two-story home, was again provided to Arnold AFB by the Kentucky Fire Commission, part of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System. Fires in the simulator are created through a propane-driven system, giving administrators greater control over the fires and providing trainees with improved safety when compared to other live fire training methods. Arnold FES firefighters are required to complete the live fire training annually per National Fire Protection Association and Air Force standards. (U.S. Air Force photo by Keith Thornburgh)
