AEDC at 75: Test facility development proceeds

A J47 engine is prepared for open-air testing prior to being test fired in August 1953 at the Engine Test Facility of what was then known as the Arnold Engineering Development Center. The ETF was completed in 1953, and the J47 was the first engine fired at the facility.
