AEDC at 75: Test facility development proceeds
The T-4 test cell of the Engine Test Facility of what was then known as the Arnold Engineering Development Center is shown in this photo from 1957. At the time, the Marquardt ramjet engine was undergoing testing in the facility. The ETF was completed in 1953, and the first engine was fired at the facility in August of that year. Arnold Engineering Development Center is now known as Arnold Engineering Development Complex, headquartered at Arnold Air Force Base, Tenn. (U.S. Air Force photo)
