AEDC at 75: Eight days after acceptance, J-5 roared to life

The J-5 Rocket Development Test Cell was accepted by the Air Force in 1963. Congress approved the construction of the J-5 in January 1963. The facility was built primarily for testing solid-propellant rocket motors.
