Wilhite becomes section manager

Larry Wilhite is the new Instrumentation & Controls Services Information Technology & Systems Department section manager.

He replaced Hollis Tolley who retired at the end of November.

Wilhite came to work for Aerospace Testing Alliance (ATA) at the Arnold Engineering Development Center (AEDC) in October 1978 from the Federal Aviation Administration. He is a registered professional engineer in Tennessee with a graduate degree in electrical engineering from the University of Tennessee. His undergraduate degree is from Auburn University.

"Larry brings a wealth of controls experience obtained over thirty years at AEDC," Chris Layne, ATA Instrumentation & Controls Services Information Technology & Systems Department manager said. "I am confident that Larry will provide excellent leadership in his new role."

Wilhite began as a T-4 cell test engineer and progressed to electrical design. The largest part of his experience has been in control system design for numerous areas of AEDC--C-2 free-jet nozzle, R2A2 and C-2 icing, motion controls for rocket X-Ray, plume data rakes and laser absorption measurements, control system sustainment and modernization in Engine Test Facility and Propulsion Wind Tunnel.
